BASIC GAME INFORMATION
WHAT IS AN ESCAPE GAME OR ESCAPE ROOM?
An escape game is a unique experience enjoyed by small groups. In each escape room, you have 60 minutes to solve a series of puzzles which will help solve your mission and escape the room. Our Games Masters will give you a story and a mission which will create a fully immersive experience. They will also help with hints during the game if you run out of ideas. This new form of entertainment is suitable for ages 14-99 and is a perfect experience for anyone who wants to challenge their mind.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Escape rooms are a modern, innovative way of entertaining anyone who enjoys taking on new challenges and experiences. At Exit the Room fun is guaranteed. You can play with family, friends, students, work colleagues – everyone has a great time in our escape rooms.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEAM SIZE? WHAT IS THE IDEAL TEAM SIZE?
The minimum team is 2 people and the maximum is 5-6 people. However, this also depends on the size of the room which differs in each location. You can check the maximum team size allowed when you select your room and go through the online booking process. We recommend that you try and get 5-6 people on your team as that not only gives the best value for money it also maximises the fun. Please bear in mind that the fewer on the team, the harder everyone has to work to solve the puzzles and escape the room in time.
OUR GROUP IS LARGER THAN THE ROOMS MAXIMUM CAPACITY. CAN YOU MAKE AN EXCEPTION IN THIS CASE?
We base our room capacity on the size of the room. This is to maintain safety as well as giving a fun experience. If you have too many people we would suggest you book 2 different rooms at the same time to maximise this unique experience.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT?
The minimum age to play Exit the Room is 14 years, however children under the age of 14 can play with parental supervision.
I WOULD LIKE TO BRING KIDS WITH ME. WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED MINIMUM AGE?
Children must be over 14 to play without parental supervision. You can bring younger children with you but please bear in mind that our games have complex puzzles which may not be enjoyable for children under 10.

CAN WE COME OUT OF OPENING HOURS?
If you want to book more than one game during the same time slot, or you need to organise a team building event, we can work with you to make that happen. This does need to be planned in advance so please click here and get in touch with us on our team building page.
ARE THE GAMES SCARY?
No, not at all! Our goal is to create an awesome, fun experience for all ages. As soon as you enter the room the clock starts to count down and you become lost in your imagination as you start to work on the puzzles, complete your mission or escape the room. None of the zombies will bite ;)
HOW BIG ARE THE ROOMS? WILL I FEEL TRAPPED?
Room sizes vary depending on location and game, but normally they are around 10-20m2.
CAN WE PLAY IN ENGLISH?
Sure! You don't need any language skills to play the games but our Games Masters can give hints in English if that is what you need.
CAN I PLAY IF I AM PREGNANT?
Yes, our rooms are completely safe if you are expecting. You won't have to use any physical strength and our rooms are not at all scary. So do come along, we promise you will have a great time!
CAN WE BRING A BABY WITH US?
Yes, of course, we'd love to have you but do bear in mind that we do not have the capacity to babysit your child, and there are no crèche or play facilities.
CAN I BRING A DOG?
Yes, dogs are welcome but all dogs must be cared for by their owners. For the safety of other players, dogs should be kept on a lead and muzzled during the games.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
You can wear any casual clothing but it should allow you to bend and move easily.
CAN WE HAVE A BIRTHDAY / BACHELOR / BACHELORETTE PARTY AT EXIT THE ROOM?
Yes! Our escape games are perfect for party events. Please keep in mind that we cannot allow people to enter our escape rooms if they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In this case, the players will be asked to leave and we will not be able to give you a refund.
CAN WE EAT AND DRINK AT THE VENUE?
Yes, but you will need to bring anything you need with you as at the moment we do not offer food or drinks on site.
IS THERE WHEELCHAIR ACCESS?
Unfortunately, our game location is not wheelchair accessible due to the presence of stairs and the limited space within the escape rooms.
Reservations, payments, changes, canceling
HOW CAN I BOOK A GAME?
You can book your game quickly and easily on our website. Just click “booking” on the top menu, select your date, the room and the number of players and then supply your contact information. Your booking is then complete – as easy as 1, 2, 3!
DO YOU ACCEPT WALK-INS?
Our escape games are extremely popular and this means we are usually booked up for weeks in advance. This means that at the moment we cannot accept walk-ins but if you click here you can book a date in less than 3 minutes.
HOW CAN I MODIFY MY APPOINTMENT?
You can modify your appointment providing it is over 24 hours before your game is due to start. An administration fee will be charged, which is 10 GBP. If you have less than 24 hours before your game then unfortunately we cannot modify your appointment. Please contact our customer service at manchester@exittheroom.co.uk with your booking number and the desired date and time and we will be happy to help.
HOW CAN I CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT?
You can cancel your appointment providing it is over 24 hours before your game is due to start. An administration fee will be charged as follows:
  • Under 1 days before your appointment 10 GBP fee

CAN I CHANGE THE GAME/ROOM I BOOKED?
You can change the room providing it is over 24 hours before your game is due to start. An administration fee will be charged as follows:

I WAS UNABLE TO FINISH THE BOOKING PROCESS. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
If you were unable to finish your booking, please start again from the beginning. Select and book the desired date and time and that's it. If you still have a problem just contact us here: manchester@exittheroom.co.uk and we will resolve the problem.
THERE WAS A TECHNICAL ERROR DURING THE BOOKING PROCESS, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

I DIDN'T RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION EMAIL OF MY BOOKING. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
An email confirmation is sent after every booking. If you don't receive this within a few minutes please check your promotion code and your spam folders. If it is not in the spam folder please contact our customer service here: manchester@exittheroom.co.uk
I WAS UNABLE TO FINISH PAYING WITH PAYPAL. WHAT CAN I DO?

HOW CAN I BUY SOMEONE A TICKET AS A GIFT?
The easiest way is to buy a gift voucher through our website by clicking on “voucher” on the top menu. You can choose from many different designs suited for most occasions. Select a digital voucher, pay online and receive your gift card within minutes of your purchase. You can also select a printed gift voucher which you can order online and pay for in our store, or you can walk into our store and buy a voucher from one of our Game Masters.
MY COUPON / VOUCHER IS ABOUT TO EXPIRE AND I CAN'T FIND FREE APPOINTMENTS. WHAT CAN I DO?
You need to book an appointment using your voucher before the expiration date. However, the appointment can be after the expiration date and you can book with us up to 90 days in advance. We are 100% sure you will be able to find a suitable date and time.
HOW LONG IS MY COUPON/VOUCHER VALID FOR?
The voucher is valid up to the date displayed on the front or the back. You need to book an appointment before that date, but the appointment can be at any time.

MY TICKET IS ONLY VALID FROM MONDAY TO FRIDAY. CAN I COME ON THE WEEKEND?
Sorry, you cannot use a weekday ticket on the weekend. If your ticket could have been upgraded the system would have offered this at the time of booking.
I BOUGHT A TICKET, BUT I WANT TO BRING AN EXTRA PERSON. CAN I DO THAT?
Sure! You are welcome to bring along an extra providing that this does not take you over the maximum room capacity. Please be sure to check that in advance. There will be a 10 GBP fee for each additional person.
I DIDN'T RECEIVE MY DIGITAL GIFT VOUCHER AFTER THE PURCHASE. WHAT CAN I DO?
You will receive an automatic email from us shortly after purchase which will contain your digital gift voucher. Please wait 5-10 minutes and don't forget to check your spam folder.
